I also I have really intense anxiety. Anyway, I'm currently worried that I have some type of heart condition and I'm really scared. I'm 18 and went to the doctors about two weeks ago and she didn't say anything about it. She just listened to my heart and asked if there was any history of heart conditions in my family (yes, but all are self induced.) I'm about 5ft and 100lbs. I don't really get that much exercise, and I'm living at college so I eat as healthy as I can.

I don't think that I'm at risk for anything, but I don't know.

Also, does anyone know if your heart is supposed to beat the same way for every beat, or does it change?

If you know you're a hypochondriac, surely you know that you're going to be fine and that it's just in your mind?

I wish I could believe that. I sometimes get pains in my chest though and I'm scared it's serious this time.

Well, sounds like the only thing you can do is to go to the doctors and have it checked. I don't know if you're in the UK and have free healthcare or whatever. Heart conditions don't develop over 2 weeks, so I'm pretty sure you'll be okay. But it sounds like the only thing that will put your mind at rest is a professional "You're okay.".

I don't know if you've exhausted all of your Anon posts for today, so send me a PM and we can chat about it if you like, but I have zero medical knowledge ^^

I think you are like me. It could be something very minor like a muscle cramp in your chest or underarms that we make out to be something worse. As soon as I feel that initial feeling, I think it up to be something much worse and it's not real, my mind just makes it feel real.  Example: I could drink one beer, think something might have been mixed in it and my mind would make me feel drunk. Weird eh?

Exactly. I've been obsessing about my heart for days so it's ALL I think about, which makes me anxious which makes me have chest pains then I go "OMG why am I having cheat pains??!?"

Haha. I also have a thing about my ears. I can make myself think I have hearing loss when in reality I have really damn good hearing.

It is definitely a weird one. I wouldn't consider myself a hypochondriac, because I'm not always like this, but I have a very vivid and lively imagination. The weirdest thing I can do is I can think about pains I've felt/pains I haven't and still feel them if I concentrate hard enough. I could imagine getting shot in a dream and I would wake up and feel a stinging feeling in my stomach.
